LMBC Dance Camp welcomes record number of participants

LINCOLN, NE - August 1, 2012- The Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company has welcomed a record number of participants this week at their 23rd annual dance camp. Sixty-five dancers from Lincoln and the surrounding area are taking intensive ballet, pointe, jazz, acting and contemporary classes at the Temple Building on the UNL campus from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Contemporary dance is being taught by the highly-energetic Stephan Reynolds from Cirque du Soleil's production of "O" in Las Vegas.

A special "How to Audition" workshop will be held Saturday, August 4 from 9 a.m. to noon, to prepare dancers for any audition.

"High quality instruction, individualized attention, and connections to the professional and national dance worlds are the strengths of our Summer Dance Camp," says Shari True, Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company artistic director. "Our camp is also very affordable. Dancers will get the same, excellent level of instruction that they would pay much more for at summer intensives in other parts of the country and they get to stay right here in Lincoln."

He will teach you to perform a fusion of jazz, ballet, funk and African, pushing you beyond your comfort zone and into the realm of true artistry. So buckle up tight, 'cause Stephan will take you from 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds!
