Blowout: The Music of Jan Bach
Dear Nebraska Brass friends,
Our season is beginning again with familiar and exciting music, and new venues! As always, a wide range of musical styles will be included in each program.
The first concert is special for the personal connection between the ensemble and the American composer featured, Jan Bach. The title work, Blowout, was commissioned for the Nebraska Brass itself. Besides other works of Bach, the program includes transcriptions of selections from West Side Story, the "Flower" Duet from Lakmé, Debussy The Girl with the Flaxen Hair, and Strauss "Tritsch-Tratsch" Polka. The famous popular tunes Stardust and Caravan will conclude the program. The concerts will be performed at the following locations:
Sunday, September 25, 3:00 PM- First United Methodist Church, Omaha, NE
Friday, September 30, 7:30 PM- First Congregational Church, Crete, NE
Sunday, October 2, 3:00 PM- Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bellevue, NE
Sunday, October 9, 3:00 PM- Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Lincoln, NE
Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (65+) in Lincoln and Omaha. For Bellevue and Crete: $12 adults and $10 seniors. Students with ID are free everywhere. Season passes with five admissions will also be available for $67.50 (adults) or $54 (seniors). These admissions can be used at any combination of concerts, except in Minden, where all admission is $15 (see below). Tickets are available through the Nebraska Brass business office at 402-477-7899, or firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to welcoming you to one or several events this season! In the meantime, "like" us on Facebook, where we will announce each series as well as post regular updates.
