| Friends of the Nebraska Brass, Join the Nebraska Brass as the ensemble presents its final series of the concert season, All-American Pops. The performances will feature a variety of favorites performed by the Midwest’s most well-known brass quintet. Musical selections will include “Somewhere” and “America” from West Side Story, Lennon & McCartney’s “Blackbird” and a rousing march by Henry Fillmore, “Americans We.” Thursday, May 31 - First United Methodist Church 614 North Hastings Avenue, Hastings, NE - 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 2 - First Unitarian Church 3114 Harney Street, Omaha, NE - 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 3 - Sheridan Lutheran Church 6955 Old Cheney Road, Lincoln, NE - 3:00 p.m. Ticket Information: Lincoln & Omaha - Adults $15, Seniors $12, children and students FREE. Hastings - Adults $12, Seniors $10, children and students FREE. The Nebraska Brass, founded in 1987, includes members Dean Haist, trumpet; Brad Obbink, trumpet; Ric Ricker, horn; Mark Mendell, trombone; and John Thomason, tuba. In addition to performing five series concerts each concert season, the Nebraska Brass provides educational outreach by presenting nearly 30 concerts to Nebraska elementary students through the Nebraska Brass Education & Community Outreach Project. |
