Mia Brown Christophe Maraval
Mia has been teaching dance in Denver, Colorado for over ten years. She has trained with choreographers such as Cris Judd, Wade Robson, and Liz Imperio among others. Mia brings expertise in hip hop, lyrical and modern, having performed nationwide in each, as well as in industrial shows. Mia is returning to the Camp for her fourth year. Originally from Castres, France, Christophe is a principal dancer with Pacific Northwest Ballet. He trained at the Paris Opera Ballet School and Conservatoire Nationale Superieur de Paris, and has danced Ballet Nationale de Nancy and was a principal with Cincinnati Ballet. Christophe has danced many leading roles, and he has participated in PNB’s choreographers showcase.

Duncan Cooper
Laura received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance Performance from Hofstra University, and is currently teaching and choreographing for studios, and schools in New York and the New England area. Since she began choreographing at 16, she has won numerous awards, and is presently on staff for a choreographer’s agency - DanzEmergencee. Most recently she has been touring as a dancer with Cirque Le Masque and resides in Manhattan, NY. Duncan trained at the San Francisco Ballet School and later spent 5 years dancing in the company. He joined The Dance Theatre of Harlem as a Principal Dancer in 1995. He has performed lead roles for New York City Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet in England, Washington Ballet and more. In 2005, Duncan founded Body Language Productions. Currently, he is involved in the development of an outreach program involving at risk kids & athletes.
Alana Martin

Alana holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts degree in Dance Performance from Oklahoma City University, and she is currently on the faculty at OCU. She has received numerous awards for performance and choreography nationwide, and she frequently teaches workshops and master classes throughout the country.

The Curriculum: Ballet, Pointe, variations, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and tap. Classes are formed by age level with no auditions or placement classes required. The levels are: Jump Start (8 year olds and under), Level I (9-11 year olds), Level II (12-13 year olds), Level III (14+). Instructors may need to adjust class size as necessary.

The Dates: All students and a parent/guardian must attend the Orientation Meeting on Monday, July 28th at 8:30 a.m. The Camp will be held Monday, July 28th through Wednesday, August 6th, 9 am-4 pm; Jump Start 9:30 am-12:30 pm. (These times may vary slightly and will be finalized following registration.) Culminating Program for friends/family will be presented on Wednesday, August 6th, time TBA.

Location: The Temple Building on 12th & R Streets, and Mabel Lee Hall, 14th & Vine Streets, both located on the downtown campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Registration & Cost: Class size is limited. Registration deadline is July 1, 2008 and on a first come, first served basis. Please complete the registration form downloadable here. The registration fee does not include meals nor housing and is nonrefundable. Area dance studios have received scholarship information.
