Nebraska Brass: Invitation to students and community to join us on stage for a special concert

NEBRASKA BRASS INVITES STUDENT & COMMUNITY MUSICIANS TO JOIN THEM ON STAGE FOR A SPECIAL CONCERT

Lincoln, NE — Join the Nebraska Brass and students and community musicians for Brass Blast!, a unique and exciting musical event. Nebraska Brass is inviting high school, college, and community brass musicians to unite onstage for performances in Lincoln, Omaha, and Grand Island. Those interested in participating may download an application at www.artsincorporated.org/nb/brass_blast_2005.pdf. Participation is free.

Brass Blast! will feature a variety of music, including: “Fire Dance,” by Anthony DiLorenzo; “Shaker Tunes,” by Gwyneth Walker; “Three Pieces,” by Johann Pezel, arranged by Robert King; “In a Sentimental Mood,” arranged by Jack Gale; “Four Irish Folk Songs,” arranged by Keith Snell; “Irish Tune from County Derry,” by Percy Aldridge Grainger, arranged by Michael W. Allen; and “The Dog Gone Blues” by Luther Henderson.

Lincoln & Omaha tickets are $15 for Adults, $12 for Seniors and FREE for children and students.
Grand Island tickets are $12 for Adults, $10 for Seniors and FREE for children and students.

The Nebraska Brass, founded in 1987, includes members Dean Haist, trumpet; Brad Obbink, trumpet; Richard Ricker, French horn; Mark Mendell, trombone; and John Thomason, tuba. In addition to performing five series concerts each concert season, the Nebraska Brass provides educational outreach to Nebraska elementary students through the Nebraska Brass Education & Community Outreach Project.
