| Friends of the Nebraska Brass, Join the Nebraska Brass and students and community musicians for Brass Blast!, a unique and exciting musical event. The Nebraska Brass is inviting high school, college and community brass musicians to unite onstage for performances in Lincoln & Omaha. Brass Blast! will feature a variety of music, including The Earle of Oxford's Marche by William Byrd, Khachaturian's Sabre Dance and Catalan Sketches by Manuel DeFalla. The Nebraska Brass will be joined onstage by guest musicians for several pieces, including the popular jazz standard A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, Promenade from Moussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition and the Sousa march Semper Fidelis. Friday, April 27 - Trinity United Methodist Church 511 North Elm Street, Grand Island, NE - 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28 - West Hills Presbyterian Church 3015 South 82nd Avenue, Omaha, NE - 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29 - First Presbyterian Church 840 South 17th Street, Lincoln, NE - 3:00 p.m. Ticket Information: Lincoln & Omaha tickets are $15 for Adults, $12 for Seniors and FREE for children and students. Grand Island tickets are $12 for Adults, $10 for Seniors and FREE for children and students. Tickets are available at the door before the concert, or in advance by contacting the Nebraska Brass business office at Arts Incorporated at (402) 477-7899. The Nebraska Brass, founded in 1987, includes members Dean Haist, trumpet; Brad Obbink, trumpet; Ric Ricker, horn; Mark Mendell, trombone; and John Thomason, tuba. In addition to performing five series concerts each concert season, the Nebraska Brass provides educational outreach to Nebraska elementary students through the Nebraska Brass Education & Community Outreach Project. |
