2005 SUMMER POPS SERIES

Lincoln, NE--The Lincoln Municipal Band has announced the schedule for the 2005 Summer Pops Series. A tradition since 1911, performances are held Sunday evenings at 7:00 p.m. at the John Shildneck Memorial Bandshell in Antelope Park, Lincoln, Nebraska. Admission is FREE. The series features a variety of themes to suit all musical tastes. The line-up is as follows:

July 3 • Star Spangled Sounds
Conductor: Bob Krueger • Soloist: Terry Rush, trombone

July 10 • Popcorn & Pics
Conductor: Terry Rush • Soloist: Jana Holzmeier, soprano

July 17 • A Salute to Our Veterans
Conductor: Bob Krueger • Soloist: Ric Ricker, French horn

July 24 • Tribute to the March Kings
Conductor: Tony Falcone • Soloist: Dawn Pawlewski, vocalist

July 31 • Forever Young – In Honor of Seasoned Adults
Conductor: Bob Krueger • Soloist: Dean Haist, trumpet

August 7 • A Salute to Health Professionals

August 14 • Lincoln Through the Ages

August 21 • Hot Cars and Cool Music
Conductor: Bob Krueger • Soloist: Robert Patton, baritone

These free concerts are the most popular events of the Lincoln Parks and Recreation summer performance series and boast regular crowds of more than 1500 citizens from Lincoln and its surrounding communities. The Lincoln Municipal Band presents its concerts in a traditional concert format that includes overtures, marches, pops music, instrumental and vocal soloists.
